Like Fried Chicken

375° Oven


  • 3 Eggs

  • 2 Cups Butter Milk

  • 1 1/2 Cups All-Purpose Flour

  • 1 Tablespoon Rubbed Sage

  • 1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt

  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

  • 1 Teaspoon Onion Powder

  • 1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

  • 1 Box Panko Bread Crumbs

  • 1 Cup Canola Oil

  • 6 Chicken Leg Quarters, Cut Into Thighs And Drumsticks


  1. Beat the eggs thoroughly in a shallow bowl.
  2. Sift together the flour, sage, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder in a bowl to combine.
  3. Place Panko Crumbs in a shallow bowl.
  4. Place butter milk in shallow bowl.
  5. Dip chicken pieces into the beaten egg, then dredge in the seasoned flour to thoroughly coat.
  6. Dip in milk then dredge in panko crumbs.
  7. Spray a large parchment covered sheet pan with oil. Spray the tops of the chicken with oil. Bake in a 375° Oven for about 35-40 minutes until golden brown. Thermometer inserted into the thickest part of a thigh should read 160 degrees F.
  8. Serve with garlic mash potatoes, roasted asparagus and garden salad with lemon vinaigrette.
