NUTTY SOUR CREAM DROP COOKIES
2 ¾ Cups Sifted All-Purpose Flour
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
½ Teaspoon Baking Soda
½ Teaspoon Salt
¼ Teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
1 Cups White Sugar
1 Cup Butter
½ Cup Sour Cream
1 Teaspoon Lemon Extract
1 Tablespoon White Sugar
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts, Or To Taste (1/4 reserved)
Step 1 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease baking sheets.
Step 2 Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg together into a bowl.
Step 3 Beat 1 1/2 cups sugar and butter together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition; blend in sour cream and lemon extract. Gradually stir flour mixture into creamed butter mixture until dough is combined. Fold in 3/4 cups of the chopped nuts. Sprinkle remaining on top of cookies before baking each batch.
Step 4 Drop dough by rounded tablespoons, about 3 inches apart, onto the prepared baking sheets. About 5 dozen cookies.
