Thai Garlic Shrimp
Ingredients
8 Cloves Garlic, Chopped, Or More To Taste
3 Tablespoons Tapioca Flour Or Cornstarch
2 Tablespoons Fish Sauce
6 Tablespoons Light Soy Sauce
3 Tablespoons White Sugar
½ Teaspoon Ground Pepper
¼ Cup Vegetable Oil, Divided, Or As Needed
2 Pounds Whole Unpeeled Prawns, Divided
Directions
Step 1 Combine garlic, tapioca flour, fish sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and pepper in a bowl; add prawns and toss to coat.
Step 2 Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a heavy skillet over high heat. Add 1/2 of the prawns in single layer; fry until golden brown and crispy, 1 to 2 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining oil and remaining prawns. Serve with jasmine rice, cucumber salad and beverage. Serves 4-6
