Whether Fall Festival, Back to School or Holidays…a good dump cake is good for emergency company, snacks, desserts or just for no reason. Be as creative as you like.
Basic Dump Cake Batter for All Dump Cakes
1 Cup Butter
2 Cup Self-Rising Flour
1 Cup White Sugar
2 Cups Half n Half
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon, Plus More For Sprinkling
Step 1 Place butter in a 9×13 in. baking dish and put in the oven to melt. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 2 Remove melted butter from the oven and set aside to cool, about 5 minutes.
Step 3 Mix flour, sugar, milk, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon together in a bowl. Gently pour batter into the middle of the melted, cooled butter; be sure you do not stir. Pour berries or or your choice of fillings and juice into the center of the batter; once again it is important you do not stir. Sprinkle cinnamon on top, a little at a time.
Step 4 Bake in the preheated oven until brown and bubbly, 30 to 60 minutes; cooking time will vary depending on the wetness of the ingredients.
NOTE: I usually just use 1 box of my favorite white cake mix instead of dry ingredients and continue recipe as noted above. You can use various flavors of cake mix to change the flavor profile if desired. Example…chocolate cake and 1 bag of chocolate chips instead of fruit etc.
