Garlic Bread Basics
Italian Garlic Bread
Ingredients
½ Cup Butter
1 ½ Tablespoons Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Dried Parsley
1 (1 Pound) Loaf Italian Bread, Cut Into 1/2 Inch Slices
1 (8 Ounce) Package Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Directions
Step 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 2 In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and mix with garlic powder and dried parsley.
Step 3 Place Italian bread on a medium baking sheet. Using a basting brush, brush generously with the butter mixture.
Step 4 Bake in the preheated oven approximately 10 minutes, until lightly toasted. Remove from heat. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and any remaining butter mixture. Return to oven approximately 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bread is lightly browned. 8 Slices
Garlic Crescent Rounds
Ingredients
¼ cup butter, melted
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent dough
½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper to taste
⅛ teaspoon paprika
Directions
Step 1 Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2 Mix butter, Parmesan cheese, and garlic in a bowl.
Step 3 Open can of crescent sheets but do not unroll the dough. Cut dough into 12 equal pieces using a serrated knife. Place dough slices onto the prepared baking sheet and brush with garlic butter. Sprinkle each slice with Italian seasoning, pepper, and paprika.
Step 4 Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 16 to 20 minute
Roasted Garlic Bread
Ingredients
3 Heads Garlic
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 (1 Pound) Loaf Italian Bread
½ Cup Butter
1 Tablespoon Chopped Fresh Parsley (Optional)
2 Tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese (Optional)
Directions
Step 1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Slice the tops off of garlic heads so the tip of each clove is exposed. Place garlic on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Bake until garlic is soft, about 30 minutes.
Step 2 Set the oven to broil. Slice the loaf of bread in half horizontally, and place cut-side up on a baking sheet.
Step 3 Squeeze the cloves of garlic from their skins into a medium bowl. Stir in the butter, parsley, and Parmesan cheese until well blended. Spread onto the cut sides of the bread.
Step 4 Broil bread until toasted, about 5 minutes.
Toasted Garlic Bread
Ingredients
1 (1 Pound) Loaf Italian Bread
5 Tablespoons Butter, Softened
2 Teaspoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3 Cloves Garlic, Crushed
1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
Sea Salt And Ground Black Pepper To Taste
1 Cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Directions
Step 1 Preheat the broiler.
Step 2 Cut the bread into slices 1 to 2 inches thick.
Step 3 In a small bowl, mix butter, olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Spread the mixture evenly on the bread slices.
Step 4 On a medium baking sheet, arrange the slices evenly and broil 5 minutes, or until slightly brown. Check frequently so they do not burn.
Step 5 Remove from broiler. Top with cheese and return to broiler 2 to 3 minutes, until cheese is slightly brown and melted. Serve at once.
