Beef Casserole III
Ingredients
Crust:
2 Crescent Roll Sheets
Filling:
3 Pounds Ground Beef Sauteed Until Crumbly
1 Large Onion, Chopped
1 Small Head Cabbage, Cored And Rough Chopped
2 Tablespoon Garlic Powder, Or To Taste
1 Teaspoon Kosher Salt
Ground Black Pepper To Taste
4 Cups Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Directions
Step 1 Roll out 1 crescent sheet to a sprayed 9×13 sprayed baking pan. Poke holes with a fork and blind bake the sheet 10 minutes in preheated oven.
Step 2 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 3 Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir beef and onion in the hot skillet until beef is browned and crumbly, 5 to 10 minutes; drain and discard grease. Add cabbage; cook until cabbage is steamed and wilted, about 10 minutes. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Step 4 Spoon hamburger mixture into pre-baked crust; cover with cheese. Cover cheese layer with second crust press to seal and cut 3 slits in center to vent.
Step 5Bake in the preheated oven until lightly browned, about 25 minutes. Cover casserole with aluminum foil and bake until filling is hot, about 10 minutes more. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes before cutting. Serves 8-10.
