Easy Breezy Toaster Oven Treats…

Baked Mozzarella Stix

Ingredients

Cooking Spray

8 Toothpicks

4 Reduced-Fat Mozzarella String Cheese Sticks, Halved

1 Egg

1 Cup Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs

Directions

Step 1 Preheat a toaster oven on broil setting, or set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven’s broiler. Spray a small baking sheet with cooking spray.

Step 2 Insert toothpick vertically into each cheese stick half to mid-way point. Beat egg in a small bowl. Place bread crumbs in a separate small bowl.

Step 3 Dip each cheese stick into egg, then press into bread crumbs. Repeat dipping in egg and breadcrumbs for a double-thick coating. Place cheese sticks on prepared baking sheet and spray with additional cooking spray for uniform browning.

Step 4 Broil in preheated oven until golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes. Allow cheese sticks to set before serving, about 1 minute.

Chocolate Waffle Sandwich

Ingredients

2 Frozen Waffles

1 Cup Chocolate Chips, Or To Taste

2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter

Directions

Step 1 Place waffles in the toaster oven and cook until halfway done, 2 to 3 minutes. Spread chocolate chips over waffles and return to toaster oven; cook until chocolate melts, 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 2 Spread chocolate evenly around waffle using a fork or toothpick. Spread peanut butter over chocolate layer. Close waffles together making a sandwich.

Toaster Oven Pizza; Hawaiian Style

Ingredients

Cooking Spray

1 (10 Inch) Flour Tortilla

¼ (15 Ounce) Can Pizza Sauce

1 Tomato, Diced And Squeezed Dry With Paper Towels

2 Pineapple Rings, Diced And Squeezed Dry With Paper Towels

1 ½ Teaspoons Dried Basil

½ Teaspoon Dried Oregano

½ Teaspoon Garlic Powder

2 Thick Slices Cooked Ham, Torn Into Bite-Size Pieces

4 Ounces Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Directions

Step 1 Heat a toaster oven to 400 degrees. Spray a pizza pan small enough to fit in toaster oven with cooking spray.

Step 2 Heat a large skillet over high heat and place tortilla into the hot skillet. Cook tortilla until heated through, about 5 minutes; spread with pizza sauce and scatter tomato and pineapple pieces over sauce. Sprinkle pizza with basil, oregano, and garlic powder. Arrange ham pieces onto pizza and top with mozzarella cheese. Continue to heat pizza until tortilla is browned and crisp, 3 to 5 more minutes. Transfer pizza to the prepared pizza pan.

Step 3Cook in the preheated toaster oven until cheese begins to brown, about 10 minutes. 1 10 Inch Pizza Serves 1-2.

Veggie Subs

Ingredients

1 Tablespoon Butter, Divided

1 Tablespoon Olive Oil, Divided

1 (8 Ounce) Package Baby Bella (Cremini) Mushrooms, Sliced

½ Teaspoon Fresh Thyme Leaves

Kosher Salt And Freshly Ground Black Pepper To Taste

1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce

1 Bell Pepper, Sliced Into Strips

1 Onion, Sliced

2 Slices Provolone Cheese, Cut In Half

2 Hoagie Rolls, Split Lengthwise

2 Teaspoons Dijon Mustard, Or More To Taste

Directions

Step 1 Preheat toaster oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).

Step 2 Heat 1 1/2 teaspoon butter and 1 1/2 teaspoon oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking, about 2 minutes. Toss in mushroom slices; season with thyme leaves, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir until mushrooms start to brown and are tender, about 5 minutes. Drizzle soy sauce over mushrooms, toss briefly and transfer to a bowl.

Step 3 Wipe out skillet. Heat remaining butter and oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking, about 2 minutes. Toss in peppers and onions; season with salt and pepper. Cook and stir until soft, about 5 minutes. Transfer peppers and onions to the bowl with the cooked mushrooms; toss to combine.

Step 4 Place rolls on toaster oven baking tray. Spread mustard over 2 halves. Place 1 piece provolone cheese over each half. Toast open-faced until cheese is melted, about 3 minutes.

Step 5 Place the toasted rolls on plates and top with mushroom mixture. Serves 2
